What are the types of Rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty is of two types, closed and open. The surgeon decides the type of nosejob according to the patient expectations and indications. In Closed rhinoplasty, a incision is made from inside the nostril so that there is no visible scar from outside. In open rhinoplasty, a small incision is made at the bottom of the nose/columella and extended inside the both the nostrils to expose the cartilages, bone and nasal septum.

The initial recovery takes about 2-4 weeks following surgery and the swelling gradually subsides with the time. The last 10% of the swelling reduces at 12 months after surgery.

What are the precautions following rhinoplasty?
