What is maxilla-mandibular advancement ?
It is a type a jaw surgery where we do osteotomies of upper jaw(Lefort 1 osteotomy) and lower jaw (Bilateral sagittal split osteotomy), advance them forward with counter-clockwise movement and fix them using titanium implants. Hence, the whole musculature including the tongue comes forward with the bony advancement, restoring the airway back , which inturn improves the sleep
